Organization & Accountability

With the exception of our founder and director, Rachel Waldstein, the entire Calcutta staff of Tabitha's Heart is Indian. We employ teachers, cooks, youth workers, drug rehabilitation staff, and a variety of support workers at our education centers, the boys' home, and the girls' home.

Tabitha's Heart is accountable to designated leaders in both India and the U.S. and to both governments. Within India, Tabitha's Heart is legally registered as an NGO (non-governmental organization) under a trust. As such, we are under the supervision of Indian officials. In the U.S., Tabitha's Heart is registered as a 501c3, and a board of directors oversees our vision, fund-raising, and finances. For a detailed account of our finances, please contact us.
